What are drysuits and how are they different from wetsuits?

A drysuit is an item of waterproof immersion wear that keeps you dry by sealing at the neck, wrists and ankles by way of ankle seal gaskets or diving boots. It doesn’t provide thermal insulation – instead, you wear clothes or layers underneath for warmth. Wetsuits, made of neoprene, are meant to trap a layer of water between the wetsuit and the skin. The snugness and thickness of the neoprene warms the water beside the skin, determining warmth, with thicker suits being warmer but less comfortable for active sports.
